 In
a Proclamation made by the Prime Minister Perry G. Christie
it is stated;
WHEREAS, Big Harvest Ministries is a non-government
organization engaged in serving the children and youth of
the inner city of New Providence;
AND WHEREAS, the said organization
through it's vibrant and proactive community Sunday school
program makes a meaningful contribution to society in
meeting the spiritual, physical and emotional needs of young
persons affected by poverty, crime and other social ill's;
AND WHEREAS, Big Harvest
Ministries, in addition to it's Sunday School services,
assists the community with food and clothing to the
underprivileged and provides the guidance and counseling to
young people in the community;
AND WHEREAS in celebration of
it's Eighth Anniversary under the theme "Passion for People"
the executives of the said organization have planned to
re-emphasize it's mission with a week of activities
including ground breaking ceremony for it's community and
Christian Training Center and conclude the week with a
"Sunday School Rally in the Alley".
NOW THEREFORE, I, Perry G.
Christie, Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas
do herby declare the week of the19th to 26th, January 2003
as "Big Harvest Week"
