Supt.
John Wesley Ferguson was born July 1st 1955. He attended the
Teacher Sands Pre-School, the Woodcock Primary School,
Western Junior & Senior schools and graduated from the
Prince Williams High School in June of 1972.
He joined the Royal Bahamas
Police Force on January 29th 1973 and presently holds the
rank of Superintendent. Mr. Ferguson has worked throughout
the various divisions of the force and held command
positions, which includes Officer-in-Charge of Andros,
Officer-in-Charge Firearms Investigation Unit,
Officer-in-Charge of Prosecution Division and is presently
the Officer-in-Charge of the Complaints and Corruption
Branch.
Mr. Ferguson has completed
numerous courses both locally and internationally. He is a
graduate of the F.B.I. National Academy in Quantico,
Virginia. He has also completed the Chie Investigators
Command course at the Training School of Independent
Commission against Corruption (ICAC) in Hong Kong.
Mr. Ferguson is the recipient
of the Royal Bahamas Police Force Medals for Meritorious
Service, Good Conduct and Long Service.
He is married to Debbie
Ferguson nee Goodman of Tarpum Bay, Eleuthera and is the
father of a son, Rashad and a daughter, Johnette.
He is a member of the Church of
God of Prophecy and the founder of the Big Harvest Community
Sunday School, Woods Alley off Market Street, a community
based entity that caters specially to under privileged
children and at risk youth.
His hobbies are reading,
traveling and meeting people.
